Project No. HRD 02-2015

In 2015, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation's Human Resources Development Working Group approved a project proposed by the United States entitled Global Competencies and Economic Integration.  The Joint National Committee for Languages was selected as the project lead to design and implement project activities.

 

The project will:

​

1) Develop an APEC-wide framework to describe global talent and its requisite elements by surveying Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) within APEC economies on their definition of and requirements for global talent;

 

2) Compile APEC-wide data on the business requirements for global talent and the added value of such talent for trade and regional economic integration; and

 

3) Develop recommendations for APEC economies to strengthen their global talent streams.
